Credit Recruitment is committed to safeguarding your privacy.
We collect your personal information to determine if you are suitable candidate for the position(s) available and may also be used to promote you to potential employers; identify your training needs; identify future opportunities for you.
Personal information is any information or an opinion (whether true or not and whether recorded in a material form or not) that is capable of identifying you. It may range from the very sensitive (eg. medical history or condition) to the everyday (eg. address and phone number). It would include the opinions of others about your work performance (whether true or not), your work experience and qualifications, your aptitude test results and other information about you obtained by us to assess your suitability for possible work placements. Personal information includes sensitive information.
Sensitive information is a special category of personal information. It includes information or opinion about your racial or ethnic origin; political opinion or membership of a political association; religious beliefs; affiliations or philosophical beliefs; membership of a professional or trade association or trade union; sexual preferences or practices; criminal records; or expressed wishes about the future provision of health services.
We will only collect sensitive information that is relevant in assessing your suitability for work placements. This will be limited to information about your health, any criminal activities or records relating to previous employment and results from competency or medical tests, where such information is needed to assess your suitability for possible work placements.
What information we will collect & how long we will store it
Initially, your personal information will be collected directly from you when you fill out our registration form; submit your resume; provide any other information in connection with your application to us; and through conversations with Credit Recruitment staff.
Throughout the recruitment process, personal information will also be collected through reference checks; inquiries made to former employers, work colleagues, professional associations or registration body; competency or medical tests; insurance investigation, litigation, registration of a professional disciplinary matter or criminal matter; an inquest or inquiry in which you are involved; or any additional information about you.
If you provide us with consent by signing this form, we will keep your information on our database to help us identify future opportunities for you, to inform you about important industry events from time to time, to inform you about industry events etc that might be of interest to you and to help you with you’re career planning. When future opportunities should arise we will contact you to request your permission to be considered for this opportunity and to update your information.
Your Personal information may be disclosed to potential and actual employers and clients of Credit Recruitment; your referees or any other third party involved in the recruitment process; our contractors and suppliers. Such disclosure will always be made on a confidential basis.
If you do not give us the information we seek, we may be limited in our ability to locate suitable work for you; we may be limited in our ability to place you in work; we may not be in a position to offer you employment with Credit Recruitment.
Credit Recruitment takes all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information that we hold is protected against misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Gaining access to the personal information that we hold about you
In the event that you are a successful candidate and you commence employment with Credit Recruitment, you will not be able to access the personal information that we hold about you because such information forms part of your employee record. Personal information contained in employee records is exempt from the operation of the Privacy Act 1988.
By signing the provided consent form, you grant Credit Recruitment permission to hold the information you have supplied to us. In the event that you are an unsuccessful candidate, we seek your consent to retain the personal information we have obtained about you during the recruitment process to consider you for any future opportunities. If you do not consent to us holding your personal information, we will destroy it immediately and inform you that we have done so. If you do consent to us holding your personal information, you will have a right to access and correct this information at any time.

In some cases we may impose a moderate charge for providing access to personal or sensitive information. We will not charge you simply because you lodge a request for access. The normal time to process your request is 30 days. We will send you a written report listing all the information contained in our database and photocopies of any hardcopies we might hold.
